Acute Care

Acute Care

While you can plan a yearly physical in advance, you can’t quite plan when you’ll come down with a bedridden sickness. That’s why we offer same-day visits for acute care to help you get back on your feet. Your visit may require you to come into the office or may be done through a Telemedicine visit.

We often get asked if individuals should see us or go elsewhere for their acute care needs. To clear up when you should visit an urgent center for your medical concerns or our office, we’ve listed them out below.

When to Visit Flourish for Acute Care

Our office can be your first choice for care for non-life-threatening issues. We know you and your health history the best, including what medications you are taking and what chronic conditions should be considered in your treatment plan.

We offer same-day visits for the following complaints:

  • Colds and flu
  • Sinus infections
  • Ear aches
  • Bites and insect reactions
  • Scrapes and minor injuries
  • Skin reactions such as hives, and poison ivy
  • Acute diarrhea
  • Acute reactions to food (non-life-threatening)
  • Urinary tract infections

* Please note that you will have to call our office (425-286-8803) to schedule same-day visits as they cannot be booked online.

When to Visit a Nearby Urgent Care Office

Urgent care or walk-in clinics are helpful when you become sick or injured, but it’s after hours, and you can’t wait for an appointment. Please note that Urgent Care is not emergency care. Please visit the ER for life-threatening issues. Also, please head to an urgent care center if your health complaints are non-life-threatening as it frees up ER resources and staff for severe cases.

Visit a nearby urgent care center if Flourish Family Medicine isn’t available, but your health complaints listed above cannot wait.

When to Visit the Emergency Room

Emergency rooms are different from urgent care centers as they are equipped and staffed to handle the most complex or critical needs, including life-threatening situations ranging from heart attack and stroke to traumatic injuries following a car accident.

Visit the ER if you or your loved one is experiencing the following:

  • Shortness of breath/ difficulty breathing
  • Allergic reaction
  • Weakness/numbness on one side
  • Slurred speech
  • Fainting/change in mental state
  • Concussion/confusion
  • Serious burns
  • Head or eye injury
  • Broken bones and dislocated joints
  • Fever with a rash
  • Seizure
  • Severe cuts that may require stitches
  • Facial lacerations
  • Severe cold or flu symptoms
  • Vaginal bleeding with pregnancy

If you or your child is experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, please call 9-1-1 or visit the nearest ER immediately. Emergency rooms are open 24/7.

Please call our office to schedule a same-day visit: 425-286-8803

* Same-day acute visits are only available for current/established patients. We are also not a walk-in clinic. You will need to schedule an appointment by calling our office beforehand.
